shift has ended in the intensive care unit of the Ottawa Hospital’s General campus, but instead of heading home, several nurses still in their work clothes make their way to the boardroom. There, they join a dozen of their colleagues who have come in from home. This group is more casually dressed, with outdoor jackets draped on the backs of chairs. In all, 14 RNs — 10 women and four men — are gathered around the boardroom table to eat takeout Indian food and discuss delirium.
